  PV inverter products are mainly divided into four categories: centralized inverter, distributed inverter, string inverter and micro inverter. Different application scenarios correspond to different characteristics, and the types and package sizes of crystal oscillators used vary greatly.

In terms of crystal oscillator selection, the two technical characteristics of photovoltaic inverter shall be met:

① Long life

The design service life of photovoltaic power generation system is generally about 20 years, so it is required that the aging rate of crystal oscillator must be low, so as to ensure that the design life of photovoltaic inverter needs to reach a high level.

② High reliability

The failure of the photovoltaic inverter will lead to the shutdown of the photovoltaic system, which will directly lead to the loss of power generation. The high reliability of the crystal oscillator is a key factor affecting the normal operation of the photovoltaic inverter.

At present, the commonly used package size of photovoltaic inverter is 3225, and the commonly used frequency points are 20MHz, 16MHz, 32.768KHz, etc. What types of crystal oscillators are used for PV inverter? The following are commonly used crystal oscillator solutions for photovoltaic inverter products.

In terms of passive crystal, it is recommended to use YSX321SL (3225). This crystal oscillator has industrial temperature of – 40~+85 ℃, anti-interference and high reliability, so as to avoid photovoltaic inverter failure.
